High on a hillside in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, this historic priory offers peace, character, and sweeping views. Just 15 minutes from Brioude, it overlooks the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre, the Margeride mountains, and the town of Aubusson. The setting is calm yet convenient, with Langeac only 15 km away, Le Puy-en-Velay 43 km, and Clermont-Ferrand 93 km, all easily reached by the A75.

Founded in 1078 and listed as a Monument Historique since 1932, the priory still carries the beauty of its medieval past. Its stone façade, mullioned bays, and pointed arches stand proudly, while thoughtful renovations have brought comfort without losing authenticity.

Arrival is through a terraced driveway and wooden gate, leading into a garden shaded by a weeping willow. From here, the main house and a converted barn workshop come into view. A sloping orchard stretches behind, discreet and fruitful with pears, plums, and apples.

Inside, volcanic stone walls, chestnut floors, and white lime plaster create timeless warmth. Details such as a hidden underground passage add intrigue. The first-floor bedrooms combine history and comfort, while the attics invite new possibilities.

The garden encourages slow living, meals under the arbor, harvests from the orchard, and evenings by the fire. Here, history and nature come together in perfect balance.
