Good Monday morning! An ornate Dutch home circa 1608 in the center of a pretty village!
How would you describe the decor style of this home? Boho-Victoriana? Modern Renaissance? I don’t know but I love how much they have leaned into their personal aesthetic. It seems very elegant, but also comfortable and a little bit playful – the deep velvet couches and that massive printed sheet with the repeated painting, *chef’s kiss*.
PS: I hope you’ll stick around, this week I will be doing a few fun things to celebrate hitting 50k! It’s a big milestone and I didn’t want to let it slip past without mention! More to come soon!
From the listing on Funda:
In a prominent location you will find this striking city building with plenty of space and possibilities. This beautiful house is situated on one of the most beautiful streets in the fortress. The striking building was built in the 17th century and is in excellent condition, consists of 3 floors and has a monumental status. The beautiful object has plenty of authentic details and elements on both the inside and outside. The interior is completely in keeping with the style of the house. It is therefore possible to take over part of the furniture, in order to maintain the beautiful style. Given the layout and purpose of the building, other purposes are conceivable in addition to ‘living’. The object has a ‘mixed destination’. As a result, the zoning plan also offers possibilities for retailers, companies, etc. In short: a beautiful object in a prime location in one of the most beautiful towns in the Netherlands!

The fortress of Woudrichem is one of the most controversial places to live in the region. But also for something to eat, drink or for a walk, this is a wonderful place. Around the fortress one has the city walls with walking paths and a beautiful view over the harbor and the rivers. Supermarket and other daily amenities can be reached with a 5-minute bike ride in the shopping center of the modern part of Woudrichem.
