Happy Monday! A sweet and historic small Dutch house circa 1835 with lots of character in Colijnsplaat, Netherlands.
This little home is so cute, the perfect one-bedroom abode. I love that the owner has maximized the space so well – that closet! – and combined it with modern comforts like underfloor heating, all while maintaining the historic character of the home. I really like the green and citrus color story, vintage details, and the Smeg fridge!
From the listing on Funda:
Extraordinarily picturesque house in one of the characteristic streets of Colijnsplaat. The fishing village of Colijnsplaat, located on the Oosterschelde National Park, is a village with a good level of facilities, where you will find urban facilities at approximately 15 km in attractive towns such as Zierikzee and Goes. For water sports enthusiasts, this is a very popular place to live. This attractive house is built on a plot of private land of 201 m2 and thus has a lovely garden. Add to that the quiet location (and yet close to all amenities) and this offer makes your dream complete! It is immediately noticeable upon arrival; this house (from 1835 !!!) has atmosphere. You enter a small hall with stairs and meter cupboard. The very cozy living room (with provision space) is more spacious than you thought. The “antique” tiled floor (with underfloor heating), the authentic beams on the ceiling, the pellet stove and the darn nice interior shutters in front of the windows (with double glazing, though) complete the picture. The “kitchen diner” has a beautiful view of the deep backyard with stone shed. It really is a kitchen to love! A kitchen from grandmother’s time and yet a reasonable comfort of today! In the back portal where the clogs used to be, a shower room has now been created. Of course not super luxurious, but very comfortable. And it completely matches the atmosphere! Fortunately, there is also a great separate toilet. The floor now consists of a cloud of a bedroom. Frames in sight, space for a wonderfully large bed, a fantastic wardrobe wall for all your clothes. If desired, it could be 2 bedrooms with little effort. The large Velux windows also give you a very nice view. A practical storage attic can be reached on the 2nd floor by means of a loft ladder. Behind the house is a terrace with a historic well (cistern) and stone shed. Behind this barn is a big surprise in the form of a really large, lovely garden with a bridal veil, decking terrace, colorful plant life and a beech hedge. In short, your own domain as a pleasure garden. It is also nice that there is a free back entrance. General: -double glass -resume. with underfloor heating and extra pallet heater In short: away from all stress in your own home with the atmosphere of the past and the comfort of today! In an environment with space, fresh air, water, lots of sun and Zeeland clouds!
