Happy Tuesday! A fascinating preserved Lithuanian homestead on five acres, surrounded by nature!
Today, I decided to browse real estate from Lithuania (since my grandfather was Lithuanian, I’ve always been curious about life there!) and came across this peaceful gem! The structures date back to 1920 and have been preserved by the owner to display the old Lithuanian way of life. I love all the natural wood and organic feeling, the peaceful views across the fields, the cozy sleeping loft, and the old fashioned kitchen oven! The property is set on five acres of land and comes with a one-bedroom main house, three-bedroom guest house, workshop with forge, sauna, wine cellar, and stables!
From the listing on Skelbiu:
A well-groomed ethnographic homestead for sale, on a 1.9 ha plot.
In a wonderful place surrounded by nature by the Nemunas, in Šakiai district, Paežereliai village, 40 km. from Kaunas. The homestead is furnished according to old traditions, many items are collected from the owners’ grandparents and great-grandparents. Restored old tools, furniture and utensils, just entering, create the feeling of a real ancient homestead.Only by seeing live can one appreciate how much sincere work has been put into making this homestead a place you don’t want to leave. Old trees and plants have been preserved in the homestead. Equipped with a wine cellar, a unique sauna, a lot of wonderful corners of the oasis of rest, where you can enjoy nature and fresh air. There is a stable, so it is possible to raise horses.
The homestead is rarely used for business purposes, but it is already loved by regular visitors from Japan, the USA and Italy, to whom Lithuania associates with rest in this enchanting area. The homestead has a lot of potential to develop ethnic rural tourism and other activities.
