Happy Thursday! A spacious Norwegian townhouse circa 1790! Terraced gardens and beautiful views!
This house is absolutely stunning. Beautiful craftmanship of wood, light and airy rooms with historical details – note the pocket beds. The built-ins are making me weak in the knees. I think that laundry room is my platonic ideal of a laundry room. And the gardens!!
The house is annotated as “ingen boplikt” on the listing, a legal term which as far as I can tell means you can’t rent it out (if anyone is familiar with Norwegian laws please feel free to confirm or deny!). I would be very happy to own this as a primary residence!
From the listing on Finn (translated from Norwegian):
Welcome to Østerkleiv – A true southern country street in the center of Tvedestrand! Østerkleiv 32 is well situated with a sheltered, secluded garden and parking. It is close to the sea!
The home has a good standard and is very copious with lots of charm! The property contains: Ground floor: Entrance / hallway, living room, office, bedroom, laundry room, firewood and workshop. 2nd floor: Living rooms, kitchen with dining room, bathroom, wardrobe and hallway. 3rd floor: Hallway, bathroom and three bedrooms.
Large, idyllic garden with conservatory and greenhouse. Balcony off living room / kitchen. From the property there is a short walk to all the city’s services, hiking areas, bathing areas, etc.
