Happy One Year Celebration! A stunning and genteel 19th century chateau on 35 acres of parkland with equestrian facilities!

It’s been a whole year since I started this page, so I wanted to celebrate with the most beautiful property I could find! This chateau is such good value for the price – though very expensive, the amount of land and sheer architectural beauty of the place make it an attractive proposition. It’s in perfect condition – elegant and well-maintained. The video tour is lovely – it feels like you’ve been transported to a period drama! I feel like Elizabeth Bennett falling in love with Netherfield, looking at the views from the windows!

From the listing on Leggett:

Set in a beautifully manicured floral park, this stunning 19th century château enjoys an imposing, elevated position with lovely rural views. Each of the château’s 10 bedroom suites, decorated in contemporary style, are equipped with generous bathrooms and include an impressive suite rumoured to have been occupied by Charles de Gaulle when visiting family in the region. The main reception rooms are well proportioned and profit from views over the garden from beautiful, south-facing arched windows. To the rear of the château sits a stone courtyard with guest house and workshops previously used for cider production, with plenty of scope to create further accommodation. Stabling is situated in a barn to the north of the château with 12 boxes, foaling box and tack room. The outdoor sand school is situated on the old tennis court and well-fenced paddocks surround the stables. The range of outbuildings are completed by a large stone barn, a stone cottage to be renovated, tucked away in a quiet corner of the property and a cute thatched summer house overlooking the gardens. Overall, a fabulous property in a great location offering numerous possibilites.
