Happy Wednesday, Escapists! A sunny, cozy refuge nestled into the Cantabrian Mountains in León, Spain! Includes a guest house and sweeping, epic views.
This view — I could just sit and soak it in for ages. I love the feeling this mountain shelter exudes. It looks like it was once a very homely, utilitarian structure, but with slight changes – the wall of glass facing the gorgeous peaks – it all of a sudden feels exuberant, a delightful hideaway!
The property is made up of several stone constructions that are located around a 100 m² patio and which also have a 900 m² plot.
The main house is an old building of 100 m² recently renovated as a loft, with two floors and which has a living room with a fireplace, an integrated kitchen, a bedroom with a dressing room and a bathroom on the ground floor, and in the old loft of the upper floor, a space of about 50 m² open and open to the living room conditioned as a bedroom. A large window in the living room allows you to enjoy a magnificent view of the central Leon mountain. The house has underfloor heating (firewood-charcoal), wood stove with double combustion and Bilbao kitchen. It has all the municipal services of electricity, water and sewerage.
The second house, also made of stone, has 50 m² built, requires some updating and it includes a kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms.
Attached to the main house is another construction that is used as a garage and tools house. The 900 m² lot that surrounds the buildings is fenced and maintains an orchard area.
The property is located in a small municipality in the Gondón Council, in the central massif of the Cantabrian Mountains, just 25 km from the port of Pajares. and 30 km. from the Barrios de Luna reservoir. The region bears the title of Biosphere Reserve for its natural wealth.
