Happy Wednesday! An idyllic stone cottage set near a babbling brook in Normandy, France!
The quality of the light illuminating the windows has made me fall in love with this little house. It seems so cozy and serene! I would happily sit at that kitchen table and stoke the little wood burner while winter warms into spring. There is even a vegetable patch!
From the listing on Leggett:
This is such a pretty property, ideally placed in a quiet area but not too far from amenities. You enter a spacious entrance/boot room straight through to the kitchen. It really is all about the quality. From the bespoke solid wood kitchen units, to the handmade, oak double glazed windows to the terracotta floor tiles. Plenty of storage space, full of character and filled with light. There is a large family table ideally situated to take in views of the garden and surrounding woods. The living room with its fireplace and cosy woodburner has direct access to the garden through two sets of French doors. Original flooring, beams, high ceiling and stunning views are something to see. Up the original oak staircase are the first of two spacious double bedrooms (one with a fireplace), the family bathroom and seperate wc is of a good size and has been decorated sympathetically in-keeping with the rest of the property. There is access to a second floor which is currently used as a hobby room, guest bedroom and storage area by the current owners. The gardens and outlook are really something spécial.. A babbling brook runs at the back of the garden and is surrounded by mature trees and established shrubs and plants. There is a green house, workshop and storage shed next to the property and leading onto the lawn. A couplé of terraces are places strategically to take in sun throughout the day. The land leads up to a privately owned lake allowing you to look out onto but without having to maintain it. Private parking, well, veg patch. Only 10 mins from all facilites, 90 mins from the nearest ferry port and 1hr nearest airport.
