Happy Bargain Friday! A very charming Greek cottage with sea and countryside views and a garden with lemon trees!
Today is the last day of our trip to Greece (though I will start folding Greek properties into my normal posting). Feel free to suggest more locations to visit! I love exploring these places and taking a peek into what life might be like there.
This cottage is adorable and with fantastic potential. It is currently in good condition with two bedrooms upstairs and living area downstairs, but the ground floor could be developed into an additional two bedrooms and the garden could be transformed into a pretty courtyard (or cultivated into a sort of permaculture garden?). For the price, I wish I could just move here and paint or write, and enjoy life at a less demanding pace.
From the listing on Corfu Homes:
Situated in the hills in a small traditional settlement in the area of Acharavi, this traditional stone house has lots of potential – it would make the perfect holiday home that is close to amenities as well as the local beaches. It is in a quiet, peaceful area with other traditional houses as neighbours yet just a 5 minute drive from the all year round resort of Acharavi and its beach.
Accessed via a quiet road that has a dead end, the house has a private parking area and exactly opposite, there is a private garden of 80 sqm that offers lovely views – this is the ideal spot to create a beautiful, tranquil courtyard. The house offers 140 sqm of living space spread over 3 levels. Stone built and structurally in good condition, it has been well maintained but is now in need of renovation and modernisation. The ground floor level currently has 2 large spaces which the current owners use for storage and where, in the past, olives have been kept. The first floor level also has 2 large rooms – currently set out as a living room and kitchen with open fireplace. 5 steps up from here is the top floor where there is a large hallway, 2 further rooms and a bathroom.
This a great investment opportunity – a chance to own a lovely stone built village property that can be changed internally and completed to your own specifications and would make a wonderful bolt hole for your summer holidays.
