Today I am featuring a fascinating property for sale in Springfield, Belize! Belize is the only English-speaking country in Central America and has a tropical climate and beautiful beaches. The farm is located in a community called Springfield, which is located about 14 miles away from the capital city of Belmopan. It was originally founded as a conservative Mennonite community in 1996 and is composed of about 40 Mennonite families who live off of the land with minimal modern technology – similar to the Amish! This property is located within the Springfield community but is open to all buyers, Mennonite or not (the current seller is not a Mennonite).

The farm is accessed by driving down a road called The Hummingbird Highway, a modern road that stretches down the coast of Belize and is a scenic drive where you can observe over a dozen species of hummingbirds.

The farm currently produces limes from 450 lime trees but can be developed further! The area produces amazing fruit, so I imagine you could potentially produce mango, papaya, dragon fruit, sapodilla, starfruit, and many more!

Here are some specifications. The price is $280,000 USD. It is a farm in the jungle outside Belmopán (14 miles), the capital city of Belize. I do produce lime and the local market takes them all. There are almost 450 lime trees, but there is lot of land for more. There is a caretaker and his wife living on the farm who are in charge of everything. They clean the houses and take care of the crops. It is a Mennonite community but I bought land from them. I am not Mennonite 🙂 The best part of this is that I live off grid and they provide all the fresh organic vegetables, home made bread, jellies , fresh milk, butter, cheese, eggs… so when I am at the farm I buy locally don’t need to go to town.
