Happy Wednesday! A luxe rural retreat in Spain – a tiny house set amidst TWELVE acres of natural beauty in Sierra de Montánchez, Extremadura, Spain! This stunning little gem is listed at €100,000 even – approximately $111K USD!
From the listing on Moulin:
A privileged position in beautiful natural scenery, 80,000m2 of woods and rock formations in the Sierra de Montanchez with wonderful views. There is a small 60m2 house which has been designed as a rural weekend retreat but can be amplified as a more spacious house. There is a strong bore hole for water supply, the house is prepared for electricity but needs its own independent solar system. The finca has its own private entrance from a rural camino. All the registration documents are up to date and legal. Although the property is secluded, peaceful and private it is just 30 minutes from 3 world heritage towns and only 5 minutes drive to the nearest village. Within 10 kms of motorway system with connections to Seville, Madrid and Salamanca.
This review of the area from Trip Advisor has me dreaming:
The Sierra de Montanchez is a protected area of granite sierra, cork and holm oak dehesa and chestnut woods. It is dominated by the mountain town of Montanchez with its romantic Moorish castle. The whole sierra is criss crossed with the most wonderful Moorish paved paths for access to the remote olive groves that seem to be planted in the most seemingly inaccesible, craggy mountainside. A delight to walk on these ancient paths not meeting a soul for hours on end. The bird life is fantastic, nothing to disturb the natural habitat of hundreds of species. Montanchez is famous for the jamon which make a wonderful snack after a long hike. … Montanchez makes a great base for exploring the 3 world heritage towns in the area, Caceres, Merida and Trujillo.
