Happy Holidays, Escapists! Today I wanted to share this very festive-feeling Swedish country cottage, with a nostalgic, vintage feel. It looks like a little peppermint in the snowy landscape!
This cute cottage was built in 1972, and the interior feels like it somehow still is 1972, with the midcentury modern style furniture and the bright primary colored decor. It reminds me of my grandparents’ house, associated with lots of complex nostalgic feelings. I LOVE the wood-fired stove in the kitchen! Such a cozy little place!
From the listing on Svenskfast:
Is it a sunny location and a minute’s walk to the sea you are looking for?
At the end of a quiet return street you will find this holiday home in a peaceful and sunny location. In the spacious and easy-to-manage garden plot there is a dwelling house, a storeroom and the possibility of several patios in different weather conditions. From the site, a leafy footpath goes down to the mooring area and child-friendly bath.
The residential building is about 57 well-disposed square meters and is divided into two bedrooms, a fresh shower room with water toilet and a working kitchen in connection with the living room with nice light inlet and exit to the patio. The house is winter-dwelling so it is excellent to spend the weekends winter time with a crackling fire in the fireplace that quickly heats the cottage.
Within 10-15 minutes walk from the property there are several nice swimming areas, both beach and rock baths. There are also berry and mushroom forests and good fishing opportunities around the knot.
Welcome to a house created for fun and new nature experiences!
