Happy Bargain Friday! Today I wanted to explore a new area of the world, and after seeing some amazing, colorful old Russian houses here on Instagram, I decided to take a peek into the Russian real estate market. It’s been a fascinating look around!
Today’s property is a 22-acre estate near Ulan-Ude, Siberia, Russia – close to Mongolia! The property has three houses on it and is developed with a greenhouse and garden, close to a forest and a stream. It is meant to be a multi-generational family compound, living close to the land with fresh produce and livestock.
Ulan-Ude is a super interesting place! It is the capital of Buddhism in Russia and the prevailing culture is similar to Mongolian culture. It was also a refuge for Russian Old Believers, similar perhaps to American Amish communities, who settled here to follow their Orthodox beliefs.
I would love to take a summer to ride on the Trans-Siberian Railway and explore this area of the world. Can you imagine what life here might be like?
From the Century 21 listing (translated from Russian):
Have time to buy! 22 acres of land on Upper Berezovka, with buildings in the IS (Individual Housing Building,
with the ability to get a postal address and a residence permit)
Several generations will freely accommodate on the site: grandparents, moms and dads, children and grandchildren- all have enough space.
There’s a big house and two smaller ones.
TO plant, garden, garden, keep chickens, piglets and other animals.
Nearby is a forest, a stream. It’s all a 10-minute drive from the city centre.
there is a shop, a kindergarten.
Call.! See! Buy!
