Happy Wednesday! Rustic Maine waterfront Cape cottage! I can’t resist a good coastal house, and this charming little cabin-home has captured my fancy today. I’d love to escape here for a long summer by the shore, sailing boats and swimming, or cozied up by the wood burner knitting or reading and watching the seasons change.
From the listing on Redfin:
Collamore House is a spectacular waterfront property located on the southern end of Bremen Long Island with water on two sides and excellent ocean views east and west. The historic, Cape-style house has charming details and western views over Muscongus Bay to Palmer Island and Hog Island. Views from the eastern shore look over a cove to the southern portion of Bremen Long Island. The 2.6± acre property features well-maintained lawn, mature spruce trees and 810± feet of attractive rocky shorefront. Bremen Long Island was first settled in the mid-1800s by boat builders, fishermen, and dairy farmers. The island is approximately 2.5 miles long and a mile wide and includes open fields, unspoiled woodlands, tidal coves, bold rocky shores, and old carriage trails. Despite its proximity to the mainland, and the associated ease of access, one feels as if they are transported back in time when they are on the island.
