Happy Tuesday! Welcome to Escapist to the Country: Commerical Property Week! This week I am featuring daydream-worthy commercial properties around the world – hopefully it’s fun and inspiring!
Today’s property is a six bedroom bed and breakfast with café, circa 1846, in a beautiful harbor village in Tarbert, Argyll, Scotland. The area is so picturesque! The harbor is full of colorful fishing boats and on the hill above the B&B are the ruins of Tarbert Castle. I wouldn’t mind reinventing myself as the proprietress of a charming B&B and running a small catering business in a pretty fishing village in Scotland! Sounds lovely.
From the listing on Country Life:
Struan House was originally built in 1846 as a small, boutique hotel and still retains the charm and character you would hope to find in a dwelling of this period, yet is fully updated and refurbished to provide unique and comfortable harbour-side accommodation. One of the great things about Struan House is its location in the village being extremely well placed for access to all the local amenities on foot, with everything from restaurants, bars and cafes, to art galleries, gift shops and newsagents only a moments’ walk from the front door. A stroll along the Harbour is a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon with plenty to see and do. The current owners have built a very successful business at Struan House, with year on year earnings rising consistently over the past 10 seasons. This property not only represents a wonderful opportunity to own and run an existing successful Bed and Breakfast business whilst enjoying the relaxed lifestyle that the West Coast of Argyll has to offer, but also offers the potential to develop a boutique style hotel with 20-25 covers already provided for in the breakfast/dining room being backed up by the existing professionally equipped kitchen and catering facilities.
